Image fusion system and method
A contrast-based image fusion system and method of processing multiple images to form a processed or fused image including regions selected from one or more images. Images are divided into image regions. Portions of the images are filtered if necessary. A contrast map is generated for each image via a convolution kernel resulting in a contrast map with contrast values for each image region. Contrast values are compared and image regions are selected based on a selection criteria or process such as greater or maximum contrast. The selected image regions form the fused image. If necessary, the luminance of one or more portions of the fused image is adjusted. One sensor is selected as a reference sensor, and an average intensity of each region of the reference sensor image is determined across the reference sensor image. The intensity of one or more regions in the final image is adjusted by combining the determined average luminance values and intensity values of the final image.
Input device which allows button input operation and coordinate input operation to be performed in the same operation plane
An input device includes a pressure-sensitive or capacitive planar input unit with an indicator sheet which has input sections being secured to the surface of the planar input unit. A tactile feedback generator is provided at the back side of the planar input unit. The tactile feedback generator includes dome-shaped inversion plates that are separately provided at locations corresponding to the input sections and provide feedback to the operator. When an input section is pressed, an operation signal in accordance with what is indicated at the pressed input section is generated.
Method and system for maintaining connections between surfaces and objects in a graphics display system
A method and system are provided for controlling the algorithmic elements in 3D graphics systems via an improved 3D graphics API and for managing computing resources utilized in connection with the maintenance of connections between surfaces and objects. When multiple applications are running simultaneously, it is possible that the demand for overall computing resources may exceed supply, and it is possible that a connection between a surface and object may be lost for one or more applications. In accordance with the present invention, a check for the persistence of a connection between surface space and object space is made substantially at the time of a present function call, and thus multiple redundant checks are avoided. In one embodiment, checks made incident to function calls other than a present function call are spoofed or bypassed in order to avoid previous inefficient use of computing resources.

Portable electronic device and method for displaying large format data files
A portable electronic device includes a rendering circuit to visualize large format data files on a narrow display. The large format data files are rendered using either a desktop display mode or a mobile display mode. The desktop display mode renders the data file using data file-specified dimensions and resolutions. The data file is viewable in its entirety by automatic scrolling achieved by moving a cursor near the edge of the display. Data file elements may be edited while in desktop display mode. The mobile display mode renders the elements of the data file as a list with minimal regard for spatial orientation. Navigation in mobile display mode is field-to-field.
Mobile communication device and method of controlling operation of the mobile communication device
A method of controlling a mobile communication device, which includes displaying a menu list and a scroll bar for scrolling the menu list on a touch screen of the terminal, receiving a dragging signal if a dragging operation has been performed from the scroll bar directly to the menu list, receiving a direction signal indicating a direction in which the dragging operation is performed within the menu list, and scrolling the menu list based on the received direction signal.

A system and method for graphically showing the animation order of animated elements in a presentation program or other software. The invention consists of a User Interface (UI) widget which shows the order of the animation in the presentation. This UI employs an animation On Object User Interface (OOUI), or animation tag, that is preferably a rectangular control that encloses a number, and labels the order in which objects are animated. Each animation OOUI or animation tag is associated with an object on a display during creation and editing. The animation OOUI or tag is preferably placed in close proximity to the object it is associated with, rather than in a separate window or dialog box, and is hence termed ?On Object?. The animation tag is active and responds to computer input device selection actions. Each animation OOUI is typically associated with an animation list.
